Originally from Leamington, I became interested in the field of physical therapy while working in clinics during my co-op placements as a student at the University of Windsor.  I have loved and played sports all my life, and found physical therapy to be a great field that combines my love of physical activity with my interest in anatomy and physiology.
I have experience in treating a variety of routine and complex outpatient orthopaedic conditions (including WSIB and MVA), in addition to neurological and post-operative cases.  I have special clinical interests in sport therapy and in cervical spine dysfunction.
I continue to receive ongoing mentorship from experienced manual therapists, and enjoy problem-solving complex cases with my colleagues.  I have taken, and continue to take, numerous continuing education courses.  I thoroughly enjoy working as part of the strong team we have at ABPT, and will continue to expand my knowledge and skills to maximize positive outcomes for my patients.

  • Member of the Canadian and Ontario Physiotherapy Association

My interest in Physiotherapy began around age 10, when I wrote an essay on how I would follow in my father's footsteps to become a Physiotherapist. In the eighteen years as a Physiotherapist I have had the privilege to work in an inpatient hospital setting and outpatient clinics, primarily in Orthopaedics. Together with my work experience and manual therapy courses, I look forward to offering clients an individualized treatment program tailored to their needs.

Diane McLeod

Registered Physiotherapist

BSc.(Physical Therapy)(1988)University of Toronto
Member of CPA/OPA-orthopedic, sports, women's health divisions
Certified Pilates Instructor-matwork specialist (2010) Toronto
Balanced Body Program Instructor at ABPT

Over the 27 years that I have been a physical therapist, I have had the opportunity to work in both the hospital and in private practice focusing mainly on orthopaedic physical therapy. After 17 years, I was introduced to Pilates-based movement re-education and I could see the potential that this form of movement based therapy could have for the rehab client. I have developed a treatment program (Balanced Body Program) designed to address postural dysfunctions, retrain core support and stabilization, alleviate chronic neck/back/shoulder/knee issues, and balance re-educaton. Each client is given an individualized assessment and is taught how to support their bodies from centre, stabilizing through the myofascial lines of movement.
During my years of practice as a physical therapist, I have taken numerous courses including manual therapy, neurology, respiratory and exercise therapy and I look forward to the opportunity to combine my physical therapy experience and Pilates training to provide individualized treatment and exercise program instruction.
