I graduated in 2015 and I specialize  in spinal mobilization, sports treatment as well as injury rehabilitation. I am certified in Esalen® Massage, which is a technique using long, integrating strokes, creating an experience of deep relaxation supporting the natural ability of body and mind to self-heal. This technique focuses on the connective tissue and deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes, manipulation of the connective tissue and deep pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibres of the muscles, tendons and fascia. This technique causes a feeling of tension release for the day or two following but may cause some soreness during or right after the massage.

Rebecca Struhar

Registered Massage Therapist

Credentials:

  • Massage Therapy Diploma
  • Registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario

History:

I originally started with Active Body in 2010 helping clients with their administration needs. I decided to further my education in a new role as a massage therapist and successfully graduated from CCHST in 2020. I earned my registration with the CMTO in June 2021 and now work Wed-Sat helping clients as an RMT!

I value working in a therapeutic atmosphere, where registered massage therapy can help make a real difference in people's range of motion, pain and stress levels. I utilize petrissage, muscle stripping and trigger point therapy in our sessions to help your muscles relax and lengthen, releasing the pain and tension built up in your body over time. I'm very glad to be part of such a great team, and I look forward to continuing to learn new skills and techniques that can help clients manage their pain and dysfunction.
